Major Medical Insurance
Individual major medical insurance is an option for individuals and families who do not have access to a health plan through an employer or public program. Individual major medical plans offer comprehensive and long term health insurance coverage and they meet the minimum essential coverage requirements necessary to fulfill the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate. Starting with January 1, 2014, effective dates, consumers purchasing these plans cannot be denied coverage or rated up based on health history or preexisting medical conditions.
Short Term Major Medical Insurance
Short term health insurance or temporary health insurance can be used as a temporary option for health coverage in between other health insurance options, or to fill in the gaps of current coverage. Designed to help protect individuals and families from the costs of the unexpected, short term insurance plans offer coverage from 30 to 180 days, and up to 364 days in many states.
Limited Benefit Health Insurance
Provides guaranteed issue, supplemental health insurance benefits for covered accidents and illnesses. These plans can fill the gaps of an existing high deductible health plan by providing “first dollar” coverage at an affordable price. Includes access to a nationwide PPO network, as well as valuable association membership discounts and services.
Having “gap” or “bridge” insurance can provide financial protection and peace of mind by adding an additional safety net in the event of an unexpected illness or injury. Individuals can use the cash benefits however they choose – for out-of-pocket medical expenses such as deductibles, copayments and coinsurance, to cover transportation costs, or even to help pay routine monthly bills.
Critical Illness Insurance
Critical illness insurance, also known as a dread disease policy, can ease the financial impact associated with life-altering illnesses. This type of insurance product provides a lump sum cash payment if the policyholder is diagnosed with one of the specific illnesses on a predetermined list as part of an insurance policy.
Accident Medical Expense Insurance (AME)
Accident Medical Expense insurance provides benefits on an excess basis in the event of an accident. This means that after the insured has been reimbursed for medical expenses by other insurance programs, and after the deductible has been satisfied, the AME plan will pay up to the maximum medical expense benefit for remaining treatment, service and supply expenses.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D)
AD&D insurance pays a set amount of money if death or dismemberment is the direct result of an accident. In the event of a fatal accident or an accident that results in losing eyesight, speech, hearing, or a bodily appendage, AD&D will pay a specified amount explicitly enumerated in the insurance policy.
Term Life Insurance
As the name implies, term life insurance provides protection for a specific period of time. If the insured dies during that term, the beneficiaries get a payout, known as the death benefit. Term life insurance can provide a sense of security and peace of mind for members and their families. Eligible individuals can immediately enroll in this guaranteed-issue coverage with no medical information required.
